Bringing jobs back

I'm running for District 41 because I believe every resident deserves access to good-paying jobs that support families and build careers. Here's my plan to revitalize our local economy:

Supporting Baltimore's Workforce

For too long, District 41 has watched good jobs leave our neighborhoods while residents struggle to find meaningful employment close to home. Our community has incredible talent, determination, and potential—but we need leadership that will fight to bring quality jobs and economic opportunity back to our district.

Priorities

Focusing on a living wage

A living wage means earning enough to cover basic needs without struggle.

Investing in small business

I will:

  • Advocate for increased funding and technical assistance programs for District 41 small business owners

  • Cut through red tape and streamline the permitting process to make it easier to start and grow businesses

  • Support microloan programs and access to capital for entrepreneurs, especially minority and women-owned businesses

  • Create business incubator spaces where local entrepreneurs can launch and scale their ventures

  • Push for "buy local" initiatives that prioritize District 41 businesses in city contracts

What about unemployment insurance?

I aim to increase unemployment insurance to provide better security during job transitions. Unemployment payouts have not changed in Maryland in 15 years. It's not sustainable anymore. Something has to change

Pathways and not borders

I will:

  • Advocate for "ban the box" policies that give people with records a fair chance at employment

  • Support expungement programs to clear old convictions that block job opportunities

  • Push for license reciprocity so workers from other states can quickly find employment

  • Address transportation barriers by improving public transit connections to job centers

  • Work to eliminate unnecessary licensing requirements that keep qualified workers out of jobs

Workforce development

I will:

  • Expand apprenticeship programs

  • Support returning citizens with job training and placement services

  • Advocate for wraparound services like childcare

  • Create youth employment programs

Building up our commercial districts

I will:

  • Fight for targeted investment in District 41's commercial districts to attract diverse businesses

  • Support facade improvement programs and commercial property rehabilitation

  • Work with the city to address vacancy issues and bring buildings back into productive use

  • Create vibrant, walkable business districts that draw customers and create sustainable jobs

  • Push for mixed-use development that includes retail, office space, and community amenities

Join the fight for economic justice

Supporting Baltimore workers with fair wages and future-ready jobs.

Good jobs for our District

When District 41 residents have good jobs, everything improves. Families become more stable. Young people see a path forward. Small businesses thrive. Neighborhoods become safer and stronger. Tax revenues increase, allowing us to invest more in our schools, parks, and services.

Economic opportunity isn't a luxury—it's the foundation of a healthy community. I'm committed to fighting every day to ensure that District 41 residents have access to the jobs and opportunities they deserve.
